It happened again.

What can I say?
I guess if it happens once then after a while, it will happen again right?
My mom always said that history will repeat itself and, in this case, it has!
I must say that when this happened again I was mad. I have no idea what I was mad about or at but maybe just because I knew that sooner or later it would happen yet again.
What you ask?
What am I rambling about?
Today.
Rog and I took the kids to Sam's to pick up a few household items.
In and out. That is all we were supposed to do.
We decided that since we took the kids to a store instead of a fun park or pool we would get them a nice drink and a pretzel when we were finished.
All of that took place when Rog decided that he was going to hurry up and run over to see if they had any sunglasses. (The story about that is later)
A few minutes later, we met him over there, he found glasses that he liked and were ready to buy them and head out of the store.
Not so fast because of course the glasses that we picked out did not have a price tag on them so we were trying to wait patiently.
Of course, when you are waiting patiently and have little ones with you, there are times when patience turns into a little bit of fun.
Luke and Liv were playing around while we were WAITING when Luke decided that he needed to spin.
One spin. One little spin and SPLAT he went on the floor.
Rog and I quickly popped up and all I could think of was, "oh please let it be a little cut on his mouth. Just not his teeth, PLEASE not his teeth."
Sure enough, Luke got up from the floor and on his bottom lip was a white speck of something.
"Oh please let that be a random piece of paper."
NOPE. It was his tooth.
His right front tooth was chipped about back in November and I always cring when I see him fall on the ground in fear of this happening again.
I took him to the dentist and they are sending us to a special place for kids because this time his nerve is exposed and they will have to do something other than file his tooth this time.
Oh Rog and I felt so bad today for our little guy.
I saw him pop in his paci for bed time tonight and after a suck or two he pulled it out and shut his eyes tight as if he were getting a brain freeze from a popsicle.
Last week, Rog and I were trying to prep Luke because we told him that we were going to throw his paci 'up the river' (thanks to the veggie tale movies where people go 'up the river' when they are going to die)but, for some reason hesitated on it. We may not need to now. Maybe this will allow Luke to not want it anymore??? (That is what we are hoping anyways.)
I asked Luke today if his teeth hurt and he quickly and calmly looked at me and said, "No. Just one." I felt so bad for him but had to laugh and give him a hug.

Oh, poor little guy!

I know that sick feeling--it's terrible! I had to laugh when you said, "I hope it is just a cut..." I've done that too! Fortunately for us, ever since that first time, it has always been a cut :-).

Hope everything goes ok with the dentist. He's still as cute as can be.

This story sounded so familiar!

I get that feeling too with Kellie, who is 6, only it's every time she gets a bite/cut. Each bite she gets swells to the size of a tennis ball, to say nothing of all the cuts she gets that immediately become infected! So I could totally relate!

Hope you're doing well. I pray for you each time you come to mind, which is incredibly often!

Take care!

Oh my word, the comment about the paci going up the river was HILARIOUS. That's so funny that the Veggie tale's go up the river to die, I have never seen that.
Poor little guy. What do you and Devin do to your kids? (JUST KIDDING)
