Kid Concoctions

We went into a store at Silver Dollar City that had many creative and fun toys for kids.
We were there for about an hour, enjoying the air conditioning, shopping the tables and watching the kids(along with Grandma Nette and Aunt Deanna)play with floam.

Deanna told us about these bags where you can make your own slushies.
We picked up two and couldn't wait to get home to try them out!

After we put the ingredients together we had to shake the bag for 5 - 7 minutes.
Rog gave that job to Luke.
He quickly gave that job to me and about 2 minutes in, I handed the job over to Rog.

He did a WAY better job!

7 minutes later and this is what we had.

They were pretty tasty!

The kids ate their slushy, decided they were done and ran off to play.

We just weren't content with making the slushy.

We figured why we still had ice we should make another concoction!

So.

Rog started the shaking process

AND

this is what we had 7 minutes later!

The first bite...

was soon followed by devouring the entire bowl in seconds!

It was just that good!

We were both a bit shocked at how tasty it all was and were glad that we made the purchase.

Well.

For the kids of course. *smirk*

We did let Luke and Liv taste the ice cream but they were a bit too busy playing to care.

Thankfully!

A bit of baking

Before heading out on our vacations, I thought it would be nice to make some yummy chocolate chip cookies.
I NEVER bake!
I am one that prefers to be in the kitchen when I need to be and after 3 meals a day I am ready for the kitchen light to go off and enjoy a different part of the house for a bit.

However, the little one inside of me was requesting chocolate chip cookies and I am one to give in easily when one of my little ones REALLY wants something.
I was kind of being forced to be in the kitchen whether I liked it or not! *wink*

I figured this would be a great time for some mommy and children time so I had Luke and Liv help in the process.

I know.
I.
KNOW!

RAW EGG!

However, isn't the whole point of making your own cookies  for this step alone?
I think I even read it in the directions as step number 5.

All done and taking a time out for a smile,

A thumbs up,

and a silly face.

Now the testing begins...

It appears that the cookies were a big hit with more than just the little one inside of me!
Oh don't worry, I let this precious little one taste quite a few of these delicious gifts of goodness!!!
He/She was quite satisfied INDEED!!!

He really does love me

Two posts ago I mentioned how ONE of my favorite treats was the Cinnabon. Saying that it was just one my favorites has to mean that I have more right?

Well, YOU ARE CORRECT!

My other favorite treat is from this wonderful place.

Just seeing the logo on this box makes my mind start to drift off to all the wonderful memories of yes, once again, my mother saying that she thinks we need to head out and grab a snack!

This treat was always picked up on the way home from either a Sunday or Wednesday night after church.

Around the time I began telling Rog about my cinnabon craze, I mentioned how Home Cut Donuts were delicious as well! I didn't quite ever think he got how much I loved these donuts until last wednesday night when he went out of his way, on our way to church, just to stop and pick up these yummy treats! Now, the story is that when you buy these donuts, you get one for that night and one for the morning.( OH you might as well do it right if you are going to put on the calories!) The best are angel cream but my favorite is the eclaire! MMMM.

Once again. Thank you Rog for loving me again and giving in to another one of my cravings. MMMMMMMMM! DELICIOUS!
