We have been dealing with Liv sleeping in her own bed for quite some time now.
She will fall asleep in her bed, to begin with, but give her a few hours and she wakes up and expects to crawl in our bed.
Before vacation, a few weeks ago, we had her a nice bed on the floor for when she would wake up. That was working out and we were in the process of nixing that as well.
While in Missouri, she slept awesome in a room with Luke the entire time we were there so we figured she was breaking her bad habit.
We get home, put her mattress in Luke's room and hoped for the best.
Slowly she has been trying to pull her stunts again and it is now time for Mommy and Daddy to stand firm and not give in.
Last night, all was going well until Livy woke up.
Rog and I were watching a movie at the time so of course we took a brief intermission so Rog could lovingly put her back in her bed.
That lasted about a minute.
She made her way down the stairs and thought she was safe in my lap.
That was until I walked her back up the steps to her cozy bed.
5 minutes go by, some sad tears, a trip to the potty followed by a few more tears.
I asked Liv what it was she needed to do and she said, "obey."
We talked about how not obeying is not honoring to Mommy and Daddy and that she can obey and honor us by going back to bed. In her bed that is.
Off she went, layed down and I walked back down to start the movie back up.
Look at that!
It worked!
She is finally getting it!
As soon as the movie ended I headed upstairs to finally sleep in a bed and use my whole pillow!
I was at peace with how well Liv did after waking up.
I walked into my dark room and thought I was safe to turn on the light.
Yeah, I apparantly thought wrong.
That little sneak!
My daughter told me what I wanted to hear and quietly walked into our room and got into our bed even after our whole honor chat!
(now mind you, this honor chat has been going on for a few weeks now and is usually started by Liv telling me that she will obey because that is honor and how the little girl down the street said "no" and that is not honor)
She gets it but doesn't always agree to abide by it!
Apparantly we are still in the process of working on this along with this little one's heart!
