You might be wondering what this picture is doing up here. Well, Sunday made it one year since my Great Grandma passed away. She was a month short of her 95th birthday. She meant so much to so many people! I have many more pictures of her but none on my computer. (If I have time, I may post a couple more!) I always admired my Great Grandma! I always remember her being joyful, kind, loving and very peaceful! Not too much chaos went on when she was around. This picture was taken about nine years ago. I love this one because it shows five generations. I also love it because it shows my grandma holding my dad's hand. She ALWAYS had to hold your hand. I don't remember a time when I was sitting next to her and she wasn't holding my hand. Her doing that constantly told you silently how much she loved you and enjoyed having that time with you. It was always so comforting. She was such a precious woman! A woman of God! Her life might not have always been easy but she never showed it.
I have a couple favorite memories with my grandma:
1) helping her wash the dishes after dinner.( Shanna and I stayed there quite a bit when we were younger)
2) sitting down after dinner to first watch her Wheel of Fortune,(we were never allowed to miss that) and following it with Who's the Boss.
3)There was one occasion where I remember me and Shanna trying to get my Grandma to sneak to show us her false teeth when my Aunt wasn't looking. It was hilarious to us and my grandma got the biggest kick out of it!
4) My grandma had always attended Grace Bible Church in Shorewood and I remember going with her on Saturdays to help put bulletins in all of the classrooms.
There are many many more but I would need about five posts to do it. Just one last one was this. I always loved watching my grandma knit or sew! She always made outfits for us (along with all of her other grandkids)
In my eyes, this wonderwoman could do no wrong! I am so excited that I will get to see her again one day!
I only hope that I am able to portray some of her characteristics. You could really see Christ in her! She taught me so much and I am so excited to be able to talk about her to my children!
